Beginning Saturday, July 1, outdoors and cooking enthusiasts can enjoy a weekend of expertly prepared food with "Green Plate Special" author Christine Burns Rudalevige at Maine Huts and Trails in Kingfield. Visitors will stay at the Poplar Hut, a modern retreat that's surrounded by forest and streams and powered by renewable energy. Guests will hike into the hut, relax and recharge, and then Rudalevige will serve a multi-course meal from the book at 6 p.m. During dinner, she'll demonstrate healthy recipes and smart cooking techniques.
