Elise Richer

Elise Richer has worked in restaurants, run her own baking business, and cooked many family meals. Her love affair with produce began when she was a teenager growing up in Massachusetts, where she worked at a farm stand and learned that a Macoun is much, much tastier than a McIntosh. As an adult, she lived and worked in Washington, DC, where she was spoiled by a long growing season and abundant peaches. She moved to Maine in 2003 and has been learning to love cabbage ever since. She was inspired to write Always in Season after hearing someone lament the constant appearance of dried beans in their farm share one winter. The result is a cookbook that is equal parts pragmatic and inspired. Elise lives with her family in Portland, Maine.
