About this Book:

In the final installment of The Five Stones Trilogy, Chase, Evelyn, and Knox must fight to save not just the island of Ayda but their own world. The three young people are scattered throughout the war-torn island as Dankar, the power hungry ruler of Exor, mounts his greatest attack. His forces begin a final, fatal siege on the weakening realms of Melor and Metria. His goal: to extend his power beyond Ayda, beyond the fog, to the rest of the world.

Will Chase be able to convince Ratha, the proud ruler of the realm of Varuna, to come to their aid? Can Evelyn learn to harness her daylights and control the stone of Metria? Will Dankar murder his own cousin in his bid for power? And if the Fifth Stone returns to Ayda, will its power save or destroy it?

G.A. Morgan, who “excels at world-building” (School Library Journal), introduced us to Ayda in The Fog of Forgetting and raised the stakes in Chanterelle. Now she brings the trilogy to a thrilling conclusion with a profound investigation: What does it take to continue believing in one another when almost every hope is gone?

Reviews

"Morgan holds the complex plot deftly, alternating the third-person narration through the points of view of several main characters (Dankar, Chase, Knox, Evelyn) chapter by chapter. With clarity and economy, she intertwines back story, setting, adventure, and philosophy in convivial balance, and she admirably maintains the individuality of her very large cast of characters (helpfully delineated in a guide at the back). She tests her characters sorely and sometimes violently, but it’s always in service of the plot. Teeming with adventure and philosophical richness, this trilogy closer excels."
Kirkus Reviews, Starred Review

"Throughout the series, I have come to love each and every one of the characters, and I loved them in this book just as much as the previous ones. They were described so well I felt like I was right there with them during the entire journey. Knox was daring, kind, and really wanted to protect his family. Chase was brave and very loyal. I also liked how well the story flowed. The themes of family, friendship, and teamwork were prevalent throughout."

"a heartfelt tribute to classic fantasy, given a modern-day, multicultural spin. Adventurous young readers will be glad to find themselves transported to a hidden world where bravery, loyalty and empathy are the strongest weapons against evil.”
