Owls Head Transportation Museum to Celebrate Rockefeller Book Publication

Islandport Press is delighted to announce the upcoming publication of Wayfarer: A Memoir, by James S. Rockefeller Jr, on October 30, 2018. A publication party will be hosted by and held at The Owls Head Transportation Museum, 117 Museum Street, Owls Head, Maine, on Thursday, November 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. Members of the public are welcome to join the author and his family and the staff to celebrate with beverages and light snacks. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and the author will be available to sign.

James S.Rockefeller, Jr., author of Man on His Island, is a cofounder of the Owls Head Transportation Museum, and served as its chairman until 2017. Rockefeller built boats for twenty years at the Bald Mountain Boat Works, where he also restored a 1912 Etrich Taube replica airplane. Rockefeller, who was born in 1926, stopped flying at the age of ninety, after clocking more than 2,000 hours in the air. Hehas two children, Liv and Ola, with his former wife, the late Liv Heyerdahl. He married Marilyn Moss in 1983.
