We keep resumes on file for possible project work.
Islandport Press typically offers a ten-week summer internship in the book publishing industry. We look for highly-motivated, organized, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in learning about book publishing and are willing to pitch in wherever the need arises.
These are paid hourly positions with flexible schedules. We can also work with you and your university to offer an internship for credit.
Our interns typically work 20 to 24 hours a week from June to August. Occasionally, we do offer shorter internships during the spring and fall semesters. We give preference to college upperclassmen, but will consider recent post-graduates and students in any class.
Interns at Islandport Press will work in all areas of a small publishing house. Duties include, but are not limited to editing, manuscript evaluation, data entry, marketing, social media, research, writing and other miscellaneous tasks.
If you are interested in a summer internship, you must submit a resume and cover letter, including your dates of availability and expressing the goals you hope to accomplish, no later than April 15. Writing samples are a plus. Please send your application via email to Shannon Butler at email@example.com. No telephone calls, please. We will select an intern by early May.
