July 17 - 2nd Annual Ruth Moore Poetry Slam
Open call to all interested writers to read poetry or passage by Ruth Moore, or write and share your own poems and stories. Readings start at 5:30 p.m. and run until done. For more information, or to sign up to present your work, contact bob.delsandro@bassharborlibraryÂ
July 19 - Talk from Editor-in-Chief Dean Lunt
Dean Lunt, editor-in-chief and founder of Islandport Press, will speak on our company's commitment to reissuing select Ruth Moore works and the unique challenges of marketing and selling mid-century novels to the modern reader. His talk, 'Words for Generations: Keeping the Literary Legacy of Ruth Moore Alive,' will go from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
July 20 - Readings of Ruth
Dennis Damon and friends present 'Readings of Ruth,' with musical accompaniment by Megan Howell. Welcomed participants can share their favorite writings and stories of our favorite Maine writer. The event will go from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. There will be a spectacular Ruth Moore-themed cake in the evening.
