Merry Moosey Christmas

Lynn Plourde is a native Mainer who frequently uses her home state as inspiration when writing about moose, the four seasons, Mount Katahdin, and being at one with nature. She lives in Winthrop, Maine, with her husband. She is the author of numerous children’s books, including Merry Moosey Christmas, illustrated by Russ Cox, and At One.

Russ Cox was raised by a pack of crazed hillbillies in the back woods of Tennessee. After graduating from art school with a portfolio in his hand, he ventured into the world of design and illustration. He opened his own studio, Smiling Otis Studio, where he specializes in illustration for children. 

He has illustrated several books for children including Freddy the Frogcaster;  Whatever Says Mark, written by Terry Collins (Capstone); and Nite Nite Soldier by Michael and Beth Hofer (Outhouse Ink).

After looking at several candidates, they choose a moose. Though he doesn't have such attributes as a shiny nose, the ability to fly, or a keen sense of navigation, he equips himself with a headlamp, jet pack, and GPS device and is ready to go.
