Cynthia Anderson grew up in western Maine. Her books include Blue Lion Days (Florida Review Publications, 2025), Home Now: How 6000 Immigrants Transformed an American Town (Hachette PublicAffairs, 2019), and River Talk (C&R Press), a Kirkus Best Books of 2014. Other work has appeared in the Miami Herald, Boston Magazine, Redbook, HuffPost, Ploughshares, Narrative Magazine, The Iowa Review and elsewhere. She’s taught writing at Boston University, leads writing workshops around the country, and lives with her family in Maine and Massachusetts.
